Surviving Our Loss After Suicide (SOLAS)

Have you lost someone you love to suicide?
You are not alone.
Sharing your story can help other Montanans and yourself grieve.
Join us for judgment free monthly meetings.
What Is SOLAS?

SOLAS is a peer support group for those affected by the tragedy of suicide. Three local Flathead women who experienced a loss through suicide formed SOLAS in 1998.

Our Goals
  1. To offer support and an empathetic community for those affected by suicide loss.
  2. To provide a network of concerned persons for the newly bereaved.
  3. To provide an opportunity for education regarding suicide and suicide grief reactions.
  4. To support each other towards healthy resolution of grief.

What Can SOLAS do for me?
SOLAS is open to anyone who has experienced a loss through suicide. Through monthly meetings, SOLAS members offer the kind of support that can only come from those who have experienced a similar loss.

What Can I Expect?
Since SOLAS meetings are informal the facilitators are everyday Montanans who have lost loved ones to sucide, not medical professionals. We share our experiences from our loss to help ourselves and others grieve. All meetings are strictly confidential and serve to reduce the stigma surrounding suicide.
When Is SOLAS?

We meet from 7:00-8:30pm every second and fourth Tuesdays of the month.
Where Is SOLAS?

SOLAS is now held at the Nate Chute Foundation office building in downtown Kalispell.

118 Main Street
Kalispell, MT 59901

(door is between The Ritzy and Sassafras Arts & Crafts)
