Dan Gagen
VICE CHAIRDan Gagen has served on the Nate Chute Foundation Board since 2023 and brings a mix of professional, personal, and community-focused experience to his role. He holds a BSBA in International Business and Spanish from Georgetown University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Dan’s career spans leadership roles in consumer-driven businesses, specializing in brand management, strategy, P&L management and team development in both Fortune 500 companies and family-owned organizations. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Dan has lived throughout the country including Crested Butte, Colorado. It was there that he developed an understanding of the mental health challenges unique to the Rocky Mountains and the barriers that rural communities face in accessing support. As a caregiver for two aging parents with distinctive needs, he brings empathy and perspective to his advocacy.
In addition to his work with NCF, Dan serves on the board of a charitable trust focused on youth education and mental health. Outside of work, he enjoys international travel, food and wine, a range of outdoor pursuits and pushing his comfort zone. He lives with his partner, Paul, and their two Australian Shepherds.
