What Is The Nest?
The Nest (Formerly SOLAS) is a peer support group for those affected by the tragedy of suicide. Three local Flathead women who experienced a loss through suicide formed SOLAS in 1998. In 2025 NCF took over the management of the group and rebranded it as The Nest
Our Goals
To offer support and an empathetic community for those affected by suicide loss.
To provide a network of concerned persons for the newly bereaved.
To provide an opportunity for education regarding suicide and suicide grief reactions.
To support each other towards healthy resolution of grief.
What Can The Nest do for me?
The Nest is open to anyone who has experienced a loss through suicide. Through monthly meetings, The Nest members offer the kind of support that can only come from those who have experienced a similar loss.
What Can I Expect?
Since The Nest meetings are informal the facilitators are everyday Montanans who have lost loved ones to suicide, not medical professionals. We share our experiences from our loss to help ourselves and others grieve. All meetings are strictly confidential and serve to reduce the stigma surrounding suicide.
When Is The Nest?
We meet from 6:00-7:30pm every second and fourth Tuesdays of the month.
Where Is The Nest?
The Nest is held at the Nate Chute Foundation office building in downtown Kalispell.
