Sam Avery

Growing up in Polson, MT, Sam Avery has had a season pass at Big Mountain since 1988. She officially made herself part of the Whitefish community in 2009 when she moved here after college to try her luck at being a ski bum. She has worked in healthcare for the last 12 years, but was incredibly enthusiastic to make the switch to the nonprofit sector with her new role at the Nate Chute Foundation. She brings 4 years of experience as a volunteer nonprofit program manager and consultant to this position, as well as 6 years of experience managing and operating a local kombucha manufacturing business. 

​In her free time she stays busy by running too much, sewing her own clothes, cooking Sichuan food, and learning languages.
